Stay Smooth and Run Safe

Roads can be rough, but they can’t touch hauling a few tons through a worksite. That’s why we build every Coronado with “pillow-block” front cab mounts, which are designed to not only dampen shock and vibration but also give you the option of fine-tuning your mount in four directions: fore-aft, lateral left-right, up and down. The rear cab mounts use air springs spaced to give your truck a stable, wide stance, but at the same time ensure that you get a good feel for the road. To keep you safe, even in some dangerous work conditions, the cab of every Coronado meets or exceeds the rigorous Swedish and European ECE R-29 crash-worthiness test requirements.

Protect Your Powerhouse

The hood of the Coronado is built tough to let you run smart. Made of a single piece of high-strength fiberglass, it is strong enough to take on the hardest vocational applications. If it does get a few chips and scratches down the trail, the hood is easily fixed with common fiberglass repair techniques.

Let Your Engine Breathe

Your engine needs to breathe clean air, even on the dustiest jobsites. To combat airborne dust and dirt, we developed a three-step intake system for the Coronado Severe Duty. Air enters the hood air plenum through the dual air intakes. In the plenum, the air is slowed down to let most of water drop out. Optional pre-cleaner filters are mounted in reinforced areas in the plenum and are designed with circular openings that create a vortex effect to spin the heavy particles out of the air. Then a bellows pushes the clean and dry air though the new Donaldson Advanced Power Core Air Filter. This single filter holds more dirt than dual air filters. It is long lasting, hard working and easily changeable.

Get Out of a Rut

We all hope you don’t need them, but when you need your tow hooks, you really need them. Whether you get a set-forward or set-back axle, the Coronado Severe Duty has the tow hooks you need to get out of a jam, all of which meet the guidelines of the Truck Maintenance Council. If you get the optional 3/8" Steel Logger bumper, you get the added strength of a heavy-duty center tow pin that provides 80,000 lbs of towing capacity.
